The best wishes of Jubilee Community Care Board members, employees, volunteers and myself are offered to all clients and your families for Christmas and the New Year.
I would like to acknowledge all employees and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to provide high quality care and support services for clients of Jubilee Community Care in 2024. It is wonderful to know that clients recognise their work too, as evidenced in the information obtained from the recent Client Satisfaction Survey:
** 97% of clients indicated their satisfaction with Jubilee as their service provider;
** 98% of clients would recommend Jubilee to other people;
**100% of clients said Jubilee staff treated them with kindness, dignity and respect;
**97% informed that working within their budget or approved service(s), their care is well planned by Jubilee to meet their needs; and
**99% of clients are satisfied the services they receive enable them to continue to do the things they want and maintain their independence in living at home.
The Department of Health and Ageing has recently written to people receiving care on a Home Care Package regarding an increase in subsidy rates to offset the increase in wages for support workers, due to take effect in January 2025. The information in the letter informed that service providers may need to increase charges to clients for their services. Please be aware that Jubilee will not be increasing our fees for the services we provide.
Jubilee is committed to planning for the possibility of emergencies and disasters within the community acting, where possible, to minimise the disruption of services to clients and employees. In the event of an emergency or disaster within the community, Jubilee will deploy an Emergency Management Team who will be responsible for providing effective management and implementation of the recovery efforts to minimise the impact on clients and employees. Please read the article on pages 4-5 in this newsletter about what you can do to prepare for an emergency or disaster and what action to take during and after such events.
I would like to take this opportunity in wishing employee Vicki Burden a wonderful retirement. Vicky retired earlier this year after 12 years working with Jubilee as our activities officer. Happily, Vicki continues her association with our service as a volunteer.
Kind regards
Shaun Riley, Executive Director
