At Jubilee Community Care, we believe that exceptional care begins with extraordinary people. This includes our team members who have newly joined Jubilee as well as those who have been a part of the organisation for five, 10, even 15 years or more.
In an industry where turnover is common, Jubilee is proud to have a high number of longstanding staff members who have made aged care their calling, not just a job. Their loyalty also speaks volumes about Jubilee’s culture of support, respect, and purpose.
Celebrating 20-plus years at Jubilee in 2025 are support workers Greg and Anne while other support workers Mary, Georgina and Jessica join office employees Pamela and Nicky in working more than 15 years. Almost another 25 employees have worked at Jubilee for at least five years.
For our clients, this consistency means more than just familiarity – it means deeper trust and stronger relationships, and truly person-centred care. As one Jubilee client expressed during our most recent Client Satisfaction Survey, “the staff are kind and helpful. I feel I have the support of a ‘family’ which has been wonderful as I don’t have any of my own family in Brisbane.”
These enduring connections also help our staff notice subtle changes in clients’ wellbeing – physically, emotionally, or socially – and respond with insight and compassion that only time and trust can build.
Support worker Anne started at Jubilee 20 years ago when there were about 20-odd carers, as they were called then. Today Jubilee has more than 45 support workers assisting clients in their homes.
“I love helping people so that is why I like this job so much and have done it for so long,” Anne said. “Twenty years ago we picked up our paper rosters (detailing our week’s clients and their services) from the office each week, and most of our services were domestic assistance or shopping compared to all the other services we do now. We did have four mandatory training sessions and CPR training like today but there were no buddy shifts for people who were recently employed back then.”
