Information on the latest assistive technologies and mobility aids for the elderly will be presented at a free forum at Toowong on February 22, organised by aged care service provider Jubilee Community Care.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reports that in 2015 almost 95 per cent of older Australians were living in households, with one quarter of those living alone. Hence, the need for assistive technologies and mobility aids to help people live safely and independently in their homes is ever increasing.
At the forum a representative from LifeTec will present information on assistive devices and technology such as household and communication aids.
Also, Think Mobility’s Jacqui Barton will talk on lifestyle and mobility aids, from 4-wheel walkers to kitchen, bathroom and bedroom aids.
The free forum also will include a discussion on crime prevention by Queensland Police Service Sergeant José Sarmiento.
The forum will be at Western Districts Rugby Football Club, Sylvan Rd, Toowong from 9.30am. Morning tea is provided.
To RSVP by February 15 phone Jubilee Community Care on 07 3871 3220 or email us at admin@jccagedcare.org.au
