Jubilee Community Care is forging ahead with our recently introduced online services with new offerings available this month.
Existing online classes include Body Moves – a gentle armchair exercise class – while the first of our Mindfulness and Nutrition courses have just wrapped up with more to come.
We are offering our Mindfulness course online again by popular demand. Run by Jon Unal from Conscious Beginnings, the course will empower and support older people to reduce their isolation and improve their wellbeing, resilience, mental health and self-care.
The program will run online once a week on Thursdays from October 15 to December 3.
We also have the I Have a Story! Writing Workshops run by author and arts therapist Fiona Ware. The online workshops encourage participants to unleash their creativity and start writing about their lives – a powerful tool to acknowledge who we are, where we’ve come from and what we’ve learnt along the way.
The course will run online once a week on Wednesdays from October 14 to December 2.
For all online courses participants will need access to a computer and internet, but only basic computer knowledge is required. And if you are not confident with technology but would like to join our online offerings there is help available – see next story on assistance for seniors online.
At the end of each online class we will have social conversation sessions to allow clients to make new friends or keep up with old ones.
Those who have participated in our online activities have found it worthwhile.
