One type of assistance subsidised by the Australian Government is Home Care Packages. The purpose of Home Care Packages is to help older Australians living at home to access a range of clinical care, personal and support services to assist with day-to-day activities.
From 27 February 2017, there will be some important changes to Home Care Packages, to give consumers more choice about their care and who delivers it.
My Aged Care will assign packages to people from a national queue, based on their individual needs and circumstances.
The good news is that Jubilee Community Care will no longer be restricted to a small geographical area in which it can deliver Home Care Packages.
There will no longer be any limitation on the number of packages we can provide!
If you already have a Home Care Package provided by Jubilee Community Care, you don’t need to do anything. Services will continue as usual.
If you have been assessed as eligible to receive a Home Care Package but haven’t started receiving care yet, we urge you to contact us. It is possible that you could commence a Home Care Package with Jubilee Community Care prior to 27 February 2017, thereby avoiding the need to wait for allocation of a package from the national queue.
Please call your Coordinator on 07 3871 3220 if you have any questions and we will talk you through these changes.
